Yeah, I own MPA panel Samsung SyncMaster 215TW (very satisfied!!), and have this problem too. It started making high pitch noise two months ago.
I understand, it is already 4 years old (bought in 2006), but it cost me around $900… :/

To fix this, you can also adjust the refresh rate of your monitor, which helps by a lot. I recently fixed my school’s computers with this. It’s fun using your computer skills at school, I’d say.

To change these settings, follow this path:
Start -> Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor

Below you will find an area labeled “Screen refresh rate”, or something to that extent.
Simply lower the Hertz at which the screen refreshes, and the problem should be fixed.

BTW, if any of you have this LCD the color settings are not good out-of-the-box.

Use this profile:

Red:89
Green:92
Blue:97

And my brightness went from 50 to 65.
