Most of my old phpBB URLs were of the post number type -- not thread number. And as far as I am aware, you cannot convert a post number to a thread number without going into the db and adding a rewrite rule for each single conversion of phpBB post# to a SMF thread#.</description>

This should fix your OLD urls issue. I had the same problem when converting from phpBB (which i was using it also since 2003) to SMF.
